November Update!

Hello my little droplets of Mizu!

OKAY OKAY, I am really bad at this blogging stuff. I promise when my life gets much more interesting, I will actually be able to post more content for people who have been following me.

First of all, thank you all for the likes, and taking the time to read what I post, I really do appreciate it.

Now what/where have I been? Well I had some family issues, which I won’t go into detail happen. I also had exams and university work, normal work, plus the countless nights of me playing League of Legends, watching YouTube, watching TV shows, as if you are an avid TV addict such as myself, you would know that all the good TV series came back in September. Plus I just had exams, so I needed some me time to get my sleep back.

Now let’s talk about what I have done! As you can see, I have changed my theme to something which is MUCH more easier to use. I have done a 20 Questions for a new About Me page, as well as a Music page. I still need to figure out how to post things onto those pages though…..At the moment, it’s just a general post.

Seriously, where have I been for the last 3 weeks? O_O

Okay, okay! I know I should have been posting more frequently. So let’s catch up!

I went to Sydney for a weekend trip with my parents. First stop for me was IMATS Sydney 2014.
It was amazing! I saw Shrinkle (Amy), who is the founder of Sugarpill, a vegan make up brand, with amazing bright colours.
I was also excited to go and buy from Hakuhodo, hand made Japanese brushes. SO SOFT ❤

The next day, we went to Taronga Zoo. We took the ferry, and it was amazing!!! 😀 I loved the whole experience.
Highlights: The tigers, Giraffes, Mountain Goats, Zebras and the Asian Elephants!
Also had my faith restored in humanity, when an awesome citizen of Sydney picked up my phone, and met up with me to return my phone 😀

The final day, we went to the Royal Botanic Gardens, and spent the whole day there. Mrs Macquarie’s Chair was the highlight there, where people take the iconic pictures of Sydney. I took lots of pictures of trees. I will post them on my flickr account, and you guys can look at the pictures I took!

Overall, this was a great trip, because it gave me and my parents the break we really needed, and I felt refreshed and I could see that my mood and happiness at all restored. 😀 Totally worth taking a trip on a weekend, just to revitalize yourself!

Making Friends – How times have changed, and my experience.

Hello Droplets of Mizu,

I hope you are doing well.

Well I wanted to share some observations I have on how I made friends in the past, compare the different ways I have made friends. Hopefully other people will comment and share how they did things different, and you might even get to discuss this with some of your friends and see what they think.

This topic is very close to my heart, because my best friend and I were walking down Southbank in the CBD of Melbourne in summer, and as I was mentioning some friends I had made, he was intrigued on how I met these people, and thus the conversation topic arises.

1) Making a friends with the new guy
When I was a young one in Primary School, I found it very difficult to make any friends. This is about my first best friend ever, who I lost contact with, and reconnected years later on Facebook.

He was the new kid in Grade 1, and everyone didn’t like him for some reason, I was unsure, and somehow, we became really good friends, even when he had changed schools, when I saw him again at a local event, I ended up staying over at his place for that weekend, and he continued to invite me to his birthday parties.

This is one friend I cherish, as him and his family are wonderful people, and I am so happy to know them 🙂

2) Making friends with adults as a child
Wow, I know this sounds kind of strange right? It is actually quite sad that the first thing that comes to mind is “Paedophile” or anything nasty, in society today, however, this is one of my favourite stories.

Apparently, I told this friend of mine, that I didn’t like them. Afterwards, I approached them again, and we became great friends. This friend worked for my parents, and during school holidays, I would help her with rinsing the dishes. Her and her husband are one of our dear family friends, and every time I see them, we would exchange stories  and discuss our thoughts.

I love hearing her stories and how times have change in her eyes, and also listening to advice that she has given me over the years.

3) The Stranger on the street
Okay, keeping it real, I don’t really have a great example of this, but this is one I’m sure has happened to somebody.

You see someone smile and you and you smile back at the, or you sit next to a stranger at the train station one cold night, and he offers you a cigarette because it’s cold. I know, you might not keep in touch with them, but I am guessing  in the olden days this was one way people connect, before technology became so easily accessible.

As we all know, we would much prefer to talk to friends we already know via the internet, text or phone calls. I’m pretty sure though some people will have taken the same train to work and back home, seen the same people, talked to the person, and eventually became their friends.

Maybe if you haven’t tried it before, you should put down your phone and try have a conversation with someone on the train, you might become friends 🙂

4) Online Friends

As I have mentioned in my first post, I am an avid gamer. I love playing with new friends on games, and getting to know them. Well, over the last three or more years, I have been able to make friends with people all around the world, and talk to them whether it be on chat services like Ventrilo or Team Speak; more developed services like Skype which allow for video chat and even taking it to the next level with applications on mobile phones such as Facebook, What’s App, Snap Chat, etc.

Let’s just say, although I may not be able to see them in person, being comfortable playing games with someone for hours, and getting to know their personality as a person, allowed me to expand my circle, which actually saved me socially, as I became reclusive, when most of my friends were busy dealing with their own busy schedules.

I am grateful that some of these people keep in contact with me 🙂 They are my great friends also, and hopefully I can meet them all one day. 🙂

4a?) Online friends -> Meeting them in person
I stepped out of my comfort zone, and found out that some of my online friends were also from Melbourne. I have actually done this twice, and I although there is a little bit of an icebreaker at the start, I have become great friends with these people.

We go to events together, watch movies, just like you would with your high school friends, and I think this is one of the most different ways of making friends.

Has anybody made friends this way? Are you intrigued? I guess the main thing is stepping out of your bubble and trying something new. Obviously if you don’t feel safe and if you’re underage, I wouldn’t suggest this, but if you’re an adult, you should expand your circle. I believe getting to know other people from all aspects of life, helps us become a better version of ourselves 🙂

Mizulicious – My First Post

Hello Droplets of Mizu (water in Japanese), how are you all doing today?

I hope you don’t mind me calling you ‘droplets’, I think we are all like one droplet in a large ocean, and hopefully we can have cool bonds like hydrogen bonds between water molecules 😛

As this is my first blog, I will share with you all some background information about myself. I’m a Australian university student in Melbourne, Victoria. I currently studied Applied Business, and actually I have a lot of opinions and things that I like to share with people, but I didn’t find that BlogSpot was doing it for me. Hopefully this works out in the long run.

Now why would someone want to start a blog in a world where video-logs have taken over? Well I had considered trying to ”Vlog” in the past, however, I have observed the harassment on websites such as YouTube, and this has prevented me from starting a Vlog, as I don’t do well with bullying 😦

Now let me address the nickname Mizulicious.
Well when I first started gaming, I could not think of  a name, as we all run into this problem when creating any username, and at the time, I had remembered that an anime character in Sailor Moon (Yes, Sailor Moon, I am not kidding. It was the first anime I ever watched so don’t judge) had a character called Mizuno Ami – aka Sailor Mercury.

Now in the anime, she is known to be a genius, and her genius applied to everything including figuring out how to play games and play them well. I wanted to be great at games and recognisable and thus, I picked MizunoAmi as my gamer-tag, and it’s been that ever since.

To cut the story short, my friends called me Miz, Mizu, and one day I met my a group of my gamer friends, and we went to a convention called “Manifest” (R.I.P) which was an anime based convention in Melbourne. We were trying to make nicknames for each other, and one of my friends said, Mizulicious, and it has stuck to me ever since. 🙂

Anyway, my idea at the moment is to share my life as a student, as a gamer and as an avid music fan. I am also into arts and craft, photography and model making. I am also love my science, and studied three years of Science, majoring in Biology, Chemistry as well as Health Science, and had studied for a year in Biomedical Science at Deakin University.

I would love your feedback and thoughts on what I say, as I am very open to see how other people think around the world.
